The safe use a wood stove fire entails:
• Start with crumpled balls of newspaper and small kindling.
• Once it is lit and crackling, step up to larger sticks.
• When young fire is established, add 1-2 small logs in a criss cross.
• Shorter logs in downstairs stove, longer logs in upstairs stove.
• Stoke as needed.
• Keep stove doors closed at all times.
• Never add logs firebox can’t handle.
• If the door won't close the log is too big.
